ERROR:
"Application not found error in fixed term table" OR "Windows error message, unknown file type NQA"
This can happen when a user has not fully removed the previous version of nQuery Advisor + nTerim.
The software currently consists of two executables nQuery70.exe (nQuery) and NQInterimAnalysis.exe (nTerim).
In this case, you may have re-directed an nQuery Advisor table to use the nTerim executable.
It appears that the program is having difficulty locating the application to open the fixed term table.
SOLUTION:
- Navigate to the following folder: C:\Program Files\Statistical Solutions Ltd\nQuery + nTerim 3.0\Templates\nQuery
- Right click on any .nqa file; in the context menu, select Open with -> Choose default program…
- Browse to find nQuery70.exe file and select (The default location is C:\Program Files\Statistical Solutions Ltd\nQuery + nTerim 4.0 depending on which version is installed).
- Make sure “Always use the selected program to open this kind of file” is checked
- Click OK
This should change the default for the other files in the templates folder (you will likely see a change in their icon).
If this does not work then
Ensure all instances of nQuery Advisor + nTerim have been fully uninstalled.
Then check for the Statistical Solutions folder C:/Program Files/Statistical Solutions Ltd/nQuery + nTerim 4.0 if you have not fully removed the previous version and fully delete any files remaining and the Statistical Solutions folder.
RESTART then install again, the issue should be resolved.
